We have all entered a crowed seating area were seats are a few and we are just looking for a place to sit down. We spot an empty seat next to someone and we ask them if the seat is taken...they say it is. Perhaps without that person's knowledge, you are able to find a seat in direct view of them. There yoi sit and watch, and no one ever comes to sit in that seat. You were lied to... the seat wasn't taken, they simply didn't want someone sitting by them.
This happened at church today.
I struggled to find God during the service.

Maybe someone was supposed to join them and either never showed up or decided to sit somewhere else. This happened to me at my son's annual school program. It was very crowded and I was saving a seat for his stepmom. But when she got there, she had also brought her mom, which I wasn't aware she was doing, and there weren't enough seats for both of them to sit by me so they went and sat somewhere else. I had also told people the seat was taken before she got there, then no one ended up sitting in her seat. It was totally an accident.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they had witnessed you teaching young boys to spit real far!
ReplyDeleteI rarely attend church, and that's usually only for a funeral or wedding. I used to really hate doing the sign of peace thing, where you shake hands with neighboring folks...but I finally got used to it and actually appreciate it now. I'd probably really like it if I ever went to church.
So if you ever see an empty seat next to me in church, I'd love to have you join me. And at the appropriate time, I'll shake your hand and say, "Peace be with you".
Peace be with you, friend.
