The Peanut Song
I was sorting my dirty clothes so I could do some laundry on my day off, when I receive a gong chime from my doorbell. I open up the the door and I don't see anyone until I look down and I see a little person. It was one of the neighbor kids who couldn't be more than four years old. She had some of her little friends with her and she wanted me to play "The Peanut Song" (aka...Found a Peanut). I had played this song for a whole gang of the neighbor kids this fall, and every time I see them outside playing, they always ask if I would play it for them. Of course, I'm a sucker for kids, so I got out my guitar and played the song for them. The wikipedia article for the song can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Found_a_Peanut but it is my observation that I sing a slightly version. I originally learned this song in Mr. Kissel's class and I remember asking Mr. Kissel years later after I had learned how to play guitar the chords. As a side note, the song was also a big hit on the Pennsylvania turnpike as I sang it for the senior trip talent show on the bus. At that time, I also added an original interpretative dance.
