Sylvia and her sexy seven dollar sunglasses

I had to run to "the Wal-Mart" for my mom to pick up a printer cartridge for my mom. While there, I wanted to pick up a few things for myself, including a new pair of sunglasses. I made my way to the check-out line, and I was about the third person in line. As the third person, I was able to put my items on the conveyor belt, but I did not see one of those dividing things to separate my things from the lady in front of me. About this time, I started doing the pee dance in the isle, so I had to make a decision to go to the bathroom or try to hold it long enough to check out. I made a quick judgement based on how many items the lady had in front of me to go ahead and go to the bathroom. I ran my plan by the lady behind me as if I were back in school asking permission to pee, and at an expedient pace, I sashayed to the little boys room. After that task was done, I ran back to the line, but to my dismay, I arrived just in time to see the cashier ring up my sunglasses to the lady in front of me in line. I did my best to try to clear up the situation, explaining to the Wal-Mart associate what had happened. He seemed a bit annoyed, and went to the customer service desk to have the charge taken off the ladies' credit card (someone behind me in line commented that he was rude). This downtime gave me a chance to apoligize to the lady who paid for my sunglasses...and this lady was AWESOME!!!

The lady (named Sylvia I later found out), could best be described as a grandmother type, but she reminded me a lot of my late mamaw, who always was full of youth and energy surpassing someone twenty years her younger. I commented how awesome of a choice the sunglasses were for her and how she was going to look in them. When the Wal-Mart associate went away in a huff, she looked at me and mouthed something to the equlivant of "get a load of this guy". After I had paid for my items, I bumped into Sylvia again as we were leaving the store. I asked her if she knew what a blog was and if she had internet access. She said yes to both! (which is impressive because I doubt my parents know what a blog is). I gave her the address to dantheblog.com and she said she would. I also asked if she would be willing to pose for a picture in her sexy seven dollar sunglasses, AND SHE TOTALLY DID! I hope I'm half as cool as you are Sylvia when I get to be older...you rock!
