Royal dork flush

Who puts a cabinet above a toilet? The Noodles Company in Des Peres, MO, that's who! I had just finished a very delicious, if not grossly expensive, plate of squiggle noodles, and I had to use the facilities. When I was done, I kind of did a stand and three quarters turn to go for the flush. Seeing that it was somewhat of a low toilet, I had to somewhat bend down to reach the flush handle thingy. When I did, I hit my head hard on the corner of the cabinet that was above the toilet. While these pictures are not real time as it were, I took some pictures afterward as a dramatization. I then went back out to the restaurant, rubbing my head, and I asked the manager who would put a cabinet above a toilet like that; it was just begging for someone to hit their head as I had just done. She told me that she had never heard of anyone hitting their head on the cabinet (a statement that I find hard to believe). I proceeded to show her the pictures of the dramatization I had just taken. She looked at me strangely...

Ya can'ta change the laws of physics

I was in my bathroom about to do what you sometimes have to do in the bathroom (not number one, but the other one). I happen to catch the bathroom scale from the corner of my eye. I decided I would perform a little experiment to see how much weight I could lose in a session. I stepped on the scale, and it showed 16x.2 (the x is to protect the innocent and my actual weight). After stepping off the scale, I performed the bathroom function, and I stepped back on the scale. To my horror, the scale now read 16x.4! I had somehow managed to take a -.2 poop. Scientifically, this shouldn't be possible. If a hole has been ripped in space time, you can blame it on me.

Strange Things Are Afoot at the Circle K

For all of you readers out there from the Midwest, the line above was the first time I had ever heard of Circle K food mart. It comes from that cinematic masterpiece "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" I can't go into or see a Circle K w/o thinking about that movie, and I am always looking for something strange in them so I can say that line...tonight I did indeed find something strange.

So I'm coming home from St. Louis tonight, and I really have to make a "pit stop". I pull into a circle k and I head to the bathroom. I was immediately taken back by what I saw. For some reason, the toilet paper rolls were mounted very high. So high in fact that a midget would have to come off the seat to get the roll flowing. As I saw this, I tried my best to figure out why it would be mounted so high. I then got to thinking the opposite; why is most toilet paper mounted so low? I got to thinking how the higher mount position would have certain advantages, such as being able to use leverage to get a power sheet out quickly. Also, it allows for a longer piece if you use the toilet paper to the floor and tear rule. Curious, I hung out in the store until I could have the chance to ask the girl working behind the counter the reasoning behind the high mount position. She said she really didn't know and she didn't even recall them being that high. I suggested that she should check it out so we both walked back to where the bathrooms were to investigate further. She was stunned by how high they were, and she checked and verified that the women's bathroom was mounted high too. I guess it goes to show you that you don't tend to notice things if you see them everyday, even if they may be a bit odd. (not that conducting an interview for dantheblog.com with a stranger working at a Circle K regarding the height of the toilet paper in the bathroom is odd...yes I did specify that I wrote for dantheblog.com as if I had a press pass)

This is an actual picture of the toilet paper mount! Any theories to any advantages this provides?
