Happy 2nd Birthday dantheblog.com
It was two years ago today that I started dantheblog.com. I want to think my tens of readers for sticking through my writing. It has been an interesting year, filled with laughter, adventure, love and lost. I post this as I sit on my front porch watching the rain...What God has in store for me in 2011, time will tell.

Chem final and journal
A couple of upcoming events in my life:
I have my chem final on Wednesday. I don't know what my final grade will be; I'm probably between an A and A- right now...I hope I don't slip into the B+ range. I'll be glad to get this final behind me; my life will return to normal for the rest of the summer with only one night class that meets only two days a week.
One of the things frustrating about a blog is what you put on it is the world's to see for all eternity. I enjoy being an open book, but I have been wrestling with things of late that I know I would be posting if they were not so "public". I know there are some of you who think I'm totally public, but trust me, there are a lot of things that don't make it to dantheblog.com for one reason or another. Yet, I know I would benefit from writing them down, so I've decided I'm going to start an offline journal for my personal use in addition to this blog.
I'll try to let you know how chemistry works out, assuming I don't bring shame to my family with my grade.
Update: It was an A!

Happy Birthday Dan The Blog
Today, my blog turns 1 year old. When a blog hits a milestone, its good to look back at the previous year. I started this blog in large part as a journal for my thoughts. I thought it would be a good way to kind of sort out some of the things I had running through my head and a way to deal with some of the pain that was in my life at that time. Because of the date, I made my blog a type of new years resolution. I feel like I've kept the resolution since I am still writing in it, but more than that, I am in awe of the work God has done in my life over this year. At this time last year, the best that could be said about me was that I was surviving. I didn't know where I was going, what I was supposed to do about it, and what my purpose was supposed to be. I began this year with a fast to seek answers to my questions, and the answer I received was "patience". God has provided me with so much this year, from the healing of my heart, to a new direction in my career, and a wonderful girlfriend that I'm so crazy for! I hope you've enjoyed reading my blog this year, and I look forward to what adventures lie ahead of me in 2010.

Blog marketing
For Christmas, my brother and sister in law bought me basically the coolest t-shirt ever. I'll let the picture speak for itself. If you would like one, I'm thinking of selling them for $19.95.

I have a big boy blog now
I've made some minor modifications to my blog this morning. I have removed the navbar at the top of the page, updated my blog listings, and added a new search bar to the top right hand side of the page. I think the changes give the blog a cleaner look. I'll try to get the favicon changed in the next few days to something different as well. I'm pretty happy with blogger as a blog platform, and I'd recommend them to anyone looking to write a personal or simple blog.

Where have all the posts gone
A neat thing about writing a blog is that if you haven't posted a story in awhile, you can post a story about how you haven't posted a story in awhile. Of late, my life has been filled with a lot of work, school, and other interesting things. I've been working on finishing up two new servers w/ new products on them at work and I have my first Bio test coming up on Monday. This weekend is Dairy Day, and I will do my best to post some pics from it. I've been able to spend time with special people of late, and they have been so supportive and helpful in praying for me as I've been going through a very busy time. More to come soon!

Sorry for the delay and off to the left coast
I'm sorry for the delay on my blog posts. I am working on ideas for about three stories right now, and I'm just finishing up their concepts. One moment of happy news is the fact that I booked a trip to California for next week, which I'm super excited about. More details to come!

Rockin' robin (tweet tweet tweet)
This post has nothing to do with the halftime band staple of the NCOE high school band and has everything to do with Twitter and the fact that I am now a Twitter member and have made several "Tweets" (entries) as they are called. I think of Twitter as a Facebook that only has status updates. I watched a great youtube video explaining the concept as blogs in between your actual blog entries. While I'm sure my life isn't that exciting, it is interesting to follow a couple of my friends (especially those I've met through my Young Republican group). My Twitter name is dan_allen_esq if anyone wants to follow me, and I'll look to see if I can plug in my Twitter account into my blog shortly.

Buffer Post
This post really isn't meant to say anything, but I thought I needed a buffer post before I started posting funny things after posting about the dying girl bride story. For what its worth, this is the first post I've had a chance to write on my new netbook, the Eee Pc 1000he. It rules! As I'm typing on it, I'm by someone with a ginormous laptop. I don't feel bad about this though, because its not the size of your laptop that counts....
Besides, Crista beside me says that she doesn't care how big my laptop is....in fact, she thinks its very cute that it is as small as it is. Like a little babies' laptop.

I have a blog fan!
Laurie from "Yellow House" fame let me know today via FB that she had read my entire blog and she was going to have her husband read it as well. This made me feel so good because I never know if people read this thing, let alone enjoy it. You may never know how much that little note meant to me...thank you so much :)
