Crying at a wedding

True story today from the wedding of my pastor Zack and his new wife Jessica.

Since they both go to our church, a lot of people at the wedding were from my church. I was sitting one row in front of a woman and her daughter who looked familiar but I didn't know well. We happened to leave at the same time. As we were leaving, her daughter (I'd guess she was about 11 or 12) asked me "Are you married?" I said "No, I'm not, its hard to believe, isn't it?" She then asked "How old are you?" I said "29". Then she said "Wow, that really sucks!" I think her mom was kind of embarrassed, as she said sheepishly "I'm sure God has someone very special for you." I just said "Well Alright then, I'm going to go home and cry now."

  1. that reminds me of a drive with my 11-year-old cousin who, for four hours, asked me questions and analyzed why i am single. his conclusion was to make me feel like a fool bc i let a good one go, but that it's ok bc he assigned me to go find and date a man who works in a mushroom lab. i don't know if that's a good idea.

  2. This seems like as good a place as any...so...I found you on a certain Christian website and sent you a message which I don't think you've opened. Then I googled your name because you never replied to me. (I promise I'm not a stalker!) But I'm going to say that I agree with you...it IS hard to believe that you're not taken. You seem like a great guy! And a writer to boot. Wow. And sigh.
