1. The author of this piece once received an word of the day calendar.
2. The author desperately wanted to be an art critic.
3. The author is an ironic victim of the poster's effectiveness; his long response of defense of the
president and criticism of the art piece in the end lends credibility to the piece's effectiveness
and draws attention to how in the tank he (and the larger media) is for the president.
I thought the most telling line was when he attributed the socialist claims to the republicans w/o actually exploring what the word means and if the word could be applied to the policies and beliefs of the president. Parodies on iconic images are nothing new, and it is its clever manipulation of these images that give the works of parody instant recognition while communication a different message. Well done to the anonymous artist on the poster!
I believe NASCAR fans are racist too. The word race is right in their sport. - JFA
